One of the joys of having a passion for all things design, is the understanding that there is a world FULL of it, far beyond our day to day lives and homes. And while magazines and Pinterest boards are wonderful, seeing, touching, smelling and immersing yourself in a space in person is a truly incredible experience of the senses that an image simply can't provide.
I always find that when my travels take me somewhere where design was a consideration in the planning, my inspiration and passion for my work and business grows. Whether it be through the places we stay, the architecture that surrounds us, modern and historical, or the materials that can be experienced in person, design is all around us. Good (and unfortunately bad) design plays a pivotal role in shaping everyone's experience whether the awareness is there or not. From the ambiance of the hotel, to the wayfinding of the airport, even down to the details of your luggage, someone designed that!
While I utilize my design focused travel on learning and growing as an Interior Designer, I also realize that I am also gaining a wealth of knowledge worth sharing. I've seen some amazing places, and dreams of seeing more, and I can't wait to reveal what I've experienced along the way.
