There was never any question in my mind that my career path would be filled with creativity. I started out as a child sketching out house plan in my free time and rearranging my Barbie furniture until I got it set up just right. I learned to paint my room at a young age so that I could try out new colors as often as I wanted and even got my first set of power tools in high school so I could work with wood and make furniture. I went on to graduate for the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design and immediately stepped into the world of retail store design.
It was through my commercial design experience and previous education that I was able to sit for and pass the NCIDQ exam, thereby becoming a certified interior designer. Passing such a rigorous test lets you know that I am a highly trained professional with knowledge in all aspects of interior design, including health codes, ADA compliance, safety practices and professional standards. While my focus as a retail store designer was space planning, and has since become my specialty, I also love utilizing my knowledge of the principals and elements of design in residential projects too because it allows me to be creative with a variety of colors, textures, furniture and styles.
Whether its residential interior design solutions to fit your life and style, or commercial interior design solutions to fit the needs of your consumer I can't wait to see what I can create next!
